Six national energy R&D innovation platforms will be established, according to a list the National Energy Administration issued recently. Sinopec will organize related parties to establish national energy carbonate oil and gas key laboratory, which focuses on six aspects (e.g. efficient development of carbonate reservoirs, safe and efficient development of high-sulfur gas reservoirs, etc.) and tries to make breakthroughs in relevant key technologies, advanced product systems, talents, etc.

   CNPC will lead related parties to establish national energy underground storage R&D center, which will help the nation ensure safe/stable supply of natural gas, help enterprises improve gas storage capacity, and help the nation raise gas storage capacity to 55-60 billion cubic meters in 2025, 60-70 billion cubic meters in 2030 and 70-80 billion cubic meters in 2035.
