The Ministry of Commerce and other 16 departments recently issued Notice on Establishing New Pattern of Development and Taking Measures to Propel High-quality Development of Border (Cross-border) Economic Cooperation Zones, which sets forth five types of measures: 1) optimizing functional layout (e.g. establishing new, expanding or adjusting border/cross-border economic cooperation zones); 2) expanding international cooperation (e.g. effectively implementing RCEP); 3) supporting innovative development (e.g. extending and improving characteristic industrial and supply chains); 4) strengthening related support (e.g. financial resources); 5) improving related mechanisms (e.g. management systems).
