Shaanxi provincial government and nine municipal (district) governments recently signed Target Responsibility Statement on Relocation and Reformation of Hazardous Chemical Firms in Densely Populated Urban Areas of Shaanxi. While detailing responsibilities and strengthening cooperation, the document is to prevent social contradictions, properly handle major emergencies and ensure target progress.
Fifteen SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) are to fulfill the tasks (relocation or reformation) before the end of 2020, and seven large enterprises are to finish by the end of 2025, according to a related task schedule issued by the provincial government in December 2019. In addition, qualified chemical parks are to improve infrastructures continually, and be prepared to accommodate more hazardous chemical firms.
