On October 8, Dongming Petrochemical published the draft of soliciting public opinions for the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of Shandong Jinhai Chemical’s 1 000 kt/a light hydrocarbon comprehensive utilization project. The project will be located in the southern parts of the industrial park of Dongming Petrochemical, with a total investment of RMB7 069.26 million. It mainly includes a 450 kt/a light hydrocarbon unit, a 400 kt/a high density polyethylene (HDPE) unit, a 50 kt/a butadiene (BD) extraction unit, a methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE)/butane-1 unit, a 210 kt/a pyrolysis hydrogenation unit and supporting facilities.
