On June 19, PetroChina Tarim held an opening ceremony for its ethane-based ethylene project at Petroleum and Petrochemical Park of Korla Shangku Comprehensive Industrial Zone.

With a total investment of RMB9.05 billion, the project covers major plants and facilities including 600 kt/a ethylene plant, 300 kt/a full-density polyethylene (PE) plant, three 300 kt/a high density PE (HDPE) plants, public works and auxiliary production facilities. The project is planned to start up in June 2021.
