The Ministry of Finance recently issued Notice on Budget for Renewable Energy Electricity Price Subsidies. This year’s subsidy budget is RMB8.1 billion applying to 11 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) – Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Zhejiang, Guangxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang and Qinghai. In detail, RMB4.24 billion is used in wind power projects, RMB3.08 billion in photovoltaic power projects, RMB680 million in the public renewable energy independent power systems, and RMB100 million in biomass power generation projects, according to the notice, which calls for giving priorities to projects involving people’s livelihood (e.g. photovoltaic poverty alleviation projects, public renewable energy independent power systems, etc.).
