Shanghai plans to establish Jiading hydrogen fuel cell automobile industry cluster, which has relatively complete industry supporting elements (e.g. hydrogen, fuel cells, fuel cell power system platform, fuel cell vehicles and infrastructures). Annual output value of hydrogen energy industry and fuel cell vehicles is to exceed RMB50 billion by 2025.

Related parties have started to make plans for key projects. Tongji University and influential enterprises like Shanghai International Automobile City Group Co., Ltd. are to jointly establish the functional platform for R&D and transformation of new energy vehicles. The number of hydrogen refueling stations in Jiading is to exceed six by the end of the year, including two constructed by Qinglin (Shanghai) Energy Science and Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sinopec.
