Rongsheng Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and Tongkun Group, shareholders of Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd., announced that Zhejiang Petrochemical’s 40 million t/a refining & chemical integration project (Phase I) in Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base has completed pre-commissioning work including construction and device installation/testing and is ready to come on stream, so the producer has decided to put the first batch of units, including atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit and utility devices, into use.

The two shareholders said the start-up of a part of the project will enable the producer to build up an integrated industrial chain of “crude oil - aromatics (paraxylene) - olefins - pure terephthalic acid/ ethylene glycol - polyester - spinning – texturing” in a bid to reduce production costs, accelerate commercial production of high-quality products, enhance profitability, strengthen its risk-resistance and achieve leap-forward development.
