Yangmei Chemical Co., Ltd. announced on June 11 that Zhengyuan Fertilizer Co., Ltd. – its wholly-owned subsidiary – is scheduled to invest about RMB2.884 billion on a new highly-efficient holistic utilization project of clean coal, with the construction due for 26 months.

The project will consist of a new 400 000 t/a synthetic ammonia unit (300 000 t/a to be used in the production of urea and the rest 100 000 t/a to be sold as commercial liquid ammonia) and a 432 million Nm3/a hydrogen unit.

With registered capital of RMB1.05 billion, Cangzhou Zhengyuan has a capacity of 600 000 t/a of synthetic ammonia, 800 000 t/a of urea and 216 million m3/a of hydrogen. With the new project, the capacity of hydrogen will total as high as 648 million m3/a (90 000Nm3/h) and the company will become the largest hydrogen supplier in north China by then.
