Recently, Fujian Zhangzhou Chi Mei Chemical Co., Ltd. kicked off the construction of its 450 kt/a acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) project in Fujian Gulei Port Economic Development Zone. 

Chi Mei Chemical is a Taiwanese joint venture established by Taiwan Chi Mei Corp (CMC) in 2018. The company plans for a 600 kt/a ABS project, which will be built in two phases. The first phase will have 450 kt/a capacity and the second phase will have 150 kt/a capacity. Covering an area of 623 Mu, the project will have a total investment of RMB2.64 billion and is estimated to realise an annual output value of no less than RMB4.8 billion after being launched.
