Fujian Eversun Holdings Group’s 600 kt/a caprolactam (CPL) project, the Phase I methanol-to-hydrogen plant, has achieved a successful test run and yielded on-spec high purity hydrogen.

Located at Shimenao Industrial Park in Xiuyu District, Putian City, Fujian Province, the project has a total investment of RMB14.876 billion, of which RMB6.27 billion will be allocated for the first phase. The Phase I project includes the construction of a 200 kt/a CPL plant, 52.5 kt/a cyclohexane plant, and a 320 kt/a ammonium sulfate plant. The methanol-to-hydrogen unit will be constructed by China National Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNCEC) No. 4 Construction Co., Ltd. which is responsible for the building and installation of a 20 000 cubic metres per hour methanol-to-hydrogen unit and a 6 000 cubic metres per hour dehydrogenation tail gas purification device.
