The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued Work Plan to Supervise Industrial Energy Saving 2019 to mainly supervise:

* Mandatory energy consumption limits per unit product of key energy-using enterprises in high energy-consuming industries, such as copper smelting, magnesium smelting, lead and zinc smelting, polycrystalline silicon, ferroalloy and ceramics; key energy-using electronic firms’ energy consumption and kiln energy efficiency, especially electronic kilns in electron tubes, electronic ceramics and magnetic materials enterprises

* Implementation of policies regarding tiered pricing for electricity; energy consumption of steel, cement and electrolytic aluminum enterprises, especially those failing to meet standards in 2018 and cement firms with daily output of clinker lower than 2 000 tons (policies regarding tiered pricing for electricity apply to enterprises that violate related regulations)

* Energy efficiency promotion of key energy-using products and equipment, such as electrical machineries, transformers, water pumps, draught fans and air compressors (enterprises are to be urged to stop producing products failing to meet mandatory energy efficiency standard limits)

* Energy efficiency of data centers managed by key energy-consuming units

* Rectification activities in enterprises found to be unqualified (in 2018) in energy consumption, and in firms violating energy saving laws
