On March 19, Shandong Hualu-Hengsheng Chemical Co., Ltd. announced to invest RMB4.98 billion in 300 kt/a amide and nylon new materials project. 

The project will use benzene and hydrogen as feedstock and adopt leading technology. Construction will last 30 months, including the establishment of cyclohexanol, cyclohexanone and caprolactam (CPL) units, equipped with hydrogen peroxide, formic acid and sulfuric acid plants. After the project is completed and put into production, it will produce 300 000 tons of CPL (200 000 tons for captive use), 200 000 tons of formic acid, 200 000 tons of nylon 6 chips, and 480 000 tons of ammonium sulfate annually.
