On March 21, PetroChina Company Limited announced that its operating results continued to improve in 2018. In detail, the company achieved revenue of RMB2.35 trillion and a profit from operations of RMB121 billion in 2018, up 16.8% YoY and 78.7% YoY, respectively. Net profit attributable to owners of the company was up 130.7% YoY to RMB52.59 billion.

By segments, the profit from operations of the exploration and production segment was up RMB58.04 billion YoY to RMB73.52 billion in 2018, and that of the refining and chemicals segment reached RMB42.76 billion, up RMB2.8 billion YoY. The marketing segment recorded a loss from operations of RMB6.45 billion, representing a decrease in profit of RMB14.73 billion YoY. The natural gas and pipeline segment achieved a profit from operations of RMB25.52 billion, up RMB9.83 billion YoY.

Output of crude oil was up 0.4% YoY to 890 million barrels in 2018, ad that of marketable natural gas reached 3.6 trillion cubic feet, up 5.4% YoY. In addition, the oil and gas equivalent output was up 2.3% YoY to 1.49 billion barrels.
