On March 24, China Pingmei Shenma Group held a ground-breaking ceremony for its new 400 kt/a polycarbonate (PC) project in the industrial cluster of Ye county in Pingdingshan city of Henan province. The commencement of the first-phase project is a major part of implementing the action plan for the development of nylon new materials industry in Henan province, marking another important step in the construction of the 100 billion-level “Nylon City” of China.

The 400 kt/a PC project will adopt US-based KBR’s world-class technology, which ensures high product quality and stable, safe and environmentally friendly operation. Relying on Pingmei Shenma Group’s existing coking and salinization industrial chain and abundant raw materials, the project is designed to be built into a first-class and world leading PC base and to upgrade the salinization industrial chain. It is of great significance to enhance the high-end and refined development level of the salinization industry in Henan province and even the whole country.
