Sinopec Luoyang Petrochemical Company announced that four of its design and procurement general contracting (EPC) plants - the core units for the company's refining structure adjustment project, have been fully launched.

Located in Jili District, Luoyang City, it is a leading strategic cooperation project between Henan Province and Sinopec, with a total investment of RMB4.5 billion. The EPC plants are the core of the refinery structure adjustment project, including a 2.6 million t/a residual oil hydrogenation unit, a 1.2 million t/a continuous reforming unit, a 450 000 t/a aromatic extraction unit and a 80 000 standard cm3/h hydrogen concentration unit. According to the schedule, the former three units are set to be constructed and installed by the end of 2019, with the installation work of relevant pipelines and electrical instruments on the way; the project will be fully completed in construction by June 2020 and be started up in September. By then, Luoyang Petrochemical's refining capacity will reach 10 million tons, and all of its gasoline and diesel products will reach the national VI standard.
