The Munich-based chemical group WACKER and Shanghai Wellion Silicone Material Factory (Wellion) have concluded an agreement on the co-branding of ready-to-use silicone compounds. Under its terms, Wellion is allowed to promote silicone compounds made from WACKER raw materials with the quality seal “Based on ELASTOSIL?” as of January 1, 2019. ELASTOSIL? has been synonymous with high-quality silicone rubber products for more than 60 years, and is now one of WACKER’s most successful brands.

The parent company of Wellion, Sunstrong International Limited (SUNSTRONG), started to distribute WACKER silicone products in 1999 and has a close collaboration with WACKER for almost 20 years. As an affiliated production enterprise of SUNSTRONG, Wellion uses WACKER silicone rubbers to produce customized products for the local and international manufacturers in the Chinese automotive, medical, electrical and household industries.

“China is one of WACKER’s largest and most important markets. As a professional provider of technical and service oriented industry solutions, Wellion’s operation philosophy is a perfect match with WACKER’s strategy of sustainable development,” said Gary Wang, WACKER Greater China Vice President Silicones. “The ‘Based on ELATOSIL?’ co-branding agreement will allow both parties to combine synergies, providing WACKER’s outstanding raw material to customers in the format of “ready-to-use”, and better meeting customer needs with Wellion’s timely and flexible services in the Chinese market.”

Jimmy Gu, General Manager of Wellion, called the agreement a major milestone of the company. He said, “ELASTOSIL? is a globally recognized trademark for high-quality silicone rubbers. WACKER has continuously enhanced its local innovation capability and has expanded its production capacity providing strong support to Wellion’s business development. I believe the co-branding will not only foster the customer’s trust to us, but also bring value-added products to customers in various industries with consistently reliable quality and higher cost performance.”
