Huizhou municipal government recently made the plan to establish a world-class green petrochemical industry base in three stages – 2019-2023 with the petrochemical production value to reach around RMB250 billion, 2024-2028 (around RMB500 billion) and 2029-2033 (around RMB600 billion).
   Refining capacity will reach 22 million t/a in the first stage, which is scheduled to increase to 32 million t/a in the second stage, and to 42 million t/a in the third stage. Ethylene capacity is to be 3.4 million t/a and arene capacity will reach 2.5 million t/a, both by 2023 (6.1 mt/a and 3.1 mt/a in the 2nd stage, 7.6 mt/a and 3.1 mt/a in the 3rd stage).
