Recently, Hubei Kelin Bolun New Materials Co., Ltd. held the first sale and delivery ceremony of its series products by the name of chlorobenzene-benzyl alcohol. The 30 000 t/a benzyl alcohol project was completed and put into production.
   The project was jointly invested and constructed by Hebei Meibang Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. and Yichang Hengyou Chemical Co., Ltd., with a gross investment of RMB560 million. Its production technology does not concern the addition of chlorine, in a bid to make its product better suit the chlorine-free requirements set for benzyl alcohol and benzaldehyde in the pharmaceutical and fragrance industries, and to comply with the national environmental protection policies. Subsequent to its fully commencement of operation, the project is expected to yield RMB1.2 billion of sales income per annum.
