Sinochem International to Build Lithium Battery Cathode & Anode Materials Project

On November 23, Sinochem International confirmed the report on building lithium battery anode materials project. Jiangsu Ruisheng, holding Sinochem’s 40% stake, signed a cooperation frame agreement with government of Ci County. Jiangsu Ruisheng plans to construct 30 000 tons mesocarbon microbeads and anode materials project in Ci County, Handan City, Hebei Province. The total investment is RMB3 billion, the first phase of which in 2018 costs RMB600 million including 10 000 tons mesocarbon microbeads and 5 000 tons anode materials. Currently, the project is in the pre-demonstration phase of investment examination and approval, carrying out specific evaluation such as feasibility study, environmental impact assessment, safety assessment and so on.
As for Cathode Materials, Sinochem International plans to build 10 000 tons nickel–rich LiNi1-x-yCoxMnyO2 (NCM )as Cathode Materials product in Zhongwei, Ningxia, based on Jiangsu Ruisheng as the platform of investment. At present, this project is in the special evaluation phase on feasibility study, sample sent to the clients and inspected, environmental impact assessment and safety assessment etc. for scale production of ealier investment approval.
