NDRC & NEA Jointly Check Gas Storage Facilities

An investigation group was jointly founded by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), National Energy Administration (NEA) and other related departments to examine gas storage and peak-shaving facilities (e.g. current conditions, construction plans, etc.) in some enterprises, as detailed in a notice recently issued by NDRC and NEA.
Gas storage capacity of major gas suppliers will account for 10% of contract demand, while regional capacity has to satisfy three-day consumption, both by 2020, in accordance with related regulations. The notice calls for accelerating project construction to reach these targets so that a stable gas supply in peak season (winter) can be ensured.
