Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and Tangshan City to Build Clean Energy Chemical Industry Demonstration Base

A signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation framework agreement between Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Science and Tangshan Municipal Government, with the aim to build a clean energy chemical industry demonstration base, was held recently in Tangshan.
The cooperation will form a benign interaction of the innovation chain, industrial chain and capital chain, promote implementation of scientific and technological achievements, and contribute to the Beijing- Tianjin-Hebei region’s industrial upgrades and environmental protection. The construction of this base will provide important support and strong impetus for the acceleration of scientific and technological innovation, industrial transformation and upgrades, and an improvement to air quality. Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics will give full play to the advantages of its scientific research and talents, and cooperate in an all-round and multi-level way with Tangshan City in scientific and technological R&D, project cooperation, implementation of research achievements, personnel training and so on, so as to achieve win-win results.
The construction of the base aims to implement President Xi Jinping’s requirements for innovation and development, which were announced at the National Science and Technology Innovation Conference, in response to the 13th Five-Year Plan’s requirement of “insist on innovation and development and strive to improve the quality and efficiency of development" and "adhere to coordinated development, and form a balanced development structure”. The base is expected to power transformation and upgrades of industrial structure, to address the problem of smog in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, and to achieve clean energy utilization through integration of policies, land, capital, talent and technologies.
