China Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties on POM Copolymer

On October 24, 2016 the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOC) conducted a dumping investigation on polyformaldehyde copolymer (POM copolymer) originating from Korea, Thailand and Malaysia, covering dumping that occurred from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 and industry injury that occurred from January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2016.
Upon investigation, MOC argues that the three countries dumped POM copolymer to China, totaling 45 038 tons in 2012, 49 787 tons in 2013, 80 624 tons in 2014, 86 366 tons in 2015 and 54 486 tons in H1 2016, which has hurt China’s POM copolymer industry. Hence, MOC decided to impose anti-dumping duties, effective October 24, 2017.
