Yigao Launches Syngas to Ethylene Glycol Project

On March 8, Inner Mongolia Yigao Coal Chemical Science Co., Ltd. held a launching ceremony for the 240 000 t/a syngas to ethylene glycol at Dalu Coal Chemical Base.
Inner Mongolia Yigao Coal Chemical Science Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) which is engaged in coal to methanol and its downstream coal chemical products in China. The 200 000 t/a coal to methanol and 140 000 t/a stable olefin project on the phase I put into operation, running well.    
The second phase involves 240 000 t/a syngas to ethylene glycol project based on the current 200 000 t/a coal to methanol unit, which utilizes syngas coal to methanol and increase syngas to ethylene glycol unit.
With RMB1.28 billion in total investment, the project is expected to be finished by the end of 2018.
