Shanghai Bi Ke to Build Methanol to Olefin Project

Shanghai Bi Ke Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Shanghai Munich Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd.) intends to build a methanol to olefin manufacturing and logistics project at Gulei Development Zone, Zhangzhou, Fujian Province. The company signed a protocol with the local government for the project on February 13.
The RMB10 billion project is designed to produce 600 kt of olefin from methanol.per year. After completion of the project, it will supply plenty of ethylene, propylene and butadiene materials at the Gulei Development Zone, helping more downstream fine chemical plants settle down in the Park.
Shanghai Bi Ke focuses on the methanol production and its downstream derivatives. The company is carrying out the methanol project in the northwest area of America, through its North American subsidiary of Northwest Innovation Works. Furthermore, Shanghai Bi Ke is dedicated to a methanol feedstock supplier to meet the growing demand in the Chinese market. The methanol is used in the production of chemicals and other industrial fields.
