No. 1 Central Document Sets Clear Direction for Agrochemical Industry

On February 5, China issued its first document for 2017, calling for deepening supply-side reform in agriculture.
Supply-side reform in agriculture is to accelerate the upgrade of fertilizers and pesticides, according to agrochemical industry players.
China’s grain prices are 30%-50% higher than the world level. Furthermore, weak competitiveness, small production scale and high costs all curb the success of agriculture. In the agrochemical industry, leading enterprises will gain more opportunities, benefiting from policies on zero growth of fertilizer and pesticide usage amounts, and more stringent environmental regulations.
