SINOMEC to Construct Methanol to Olefin Project in Maoming


China Energy Engineering Group Corporation (SINOMEC) intends to construct integrated plants in Maoming city, Guangdong province, southern China, including a 600 000 t/a methanol to olefin unit, a resource comprehensive recycling use center, a photovoltaic energy project and an industrialization demonstration project for hydrogen cells. SINOMEC signed relevant agreements with the local government on December 26, 2016.
A project team is to be established as soon as possible, and meanwhile the two parties will strive for deeper cooperation in broader areas.
