Coal-based Ethylene Glycol Project Phase I Came on Line in Shanxi

On November 16, Shouyang Chemical Co., Ltd. of Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. put into operation on coal-based ethylene glycol project phase I, with a capacity of 200 000 t/a. The purity of the polyester-grade ethylene glycol produced in the plant reaches 99.96%.
The 400 000 t/a coal-based ethylene glycol project, with a total investment of RMB6.43 billion, is located in Industrial Zone, Shouyang county, Jinzhong city, Shanxi province. The project will be built in two phases. The first phase, injecting RMB3.415 billion, has capability of producing 200 000 tons of ethylene glycol per year.
Ethylene glycol is mainly for production of polyester fiber, polyester resin, anti-freeze fluid, lubricating fluid, plasticizing fluid, explosives, etc.
