Olin Opens New Office and Celebrates One-Year Anniversary After Merger with DOW’S Chlorine Businesses

Olin recently celebrated its first year anniversary after completing its merger with Dow’s chlorine products businesses. On November 9, a one-year-anniversary celebration and a new office inauguration ceremony were held at Olin China’s new office in Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park.
This new office serves as Olin’s headquarters of the APAC region. The office includes an Olin Asia Pacific Innovation Center to support product development and technical service in the region.
The merger, completed in October 2015, includes Dow’s US Gulf Coast chlor-alkali and vinyl and the global chlorinated organics and global epoxy business units and a 100% interest in the Dow Mitsui chlor-alkali joint venture. After the completion of this deal, Olin became the world’s leading producer of chlor alkali products and epoxy materials.
“Olin has a history of over 120 years in the manufacturing of chlor alkali products. The merger enables Olin to be a leader in chlor alkali and epoxy products, which has ensured a solid foundation for our future development. The Innovation center in our Zhangjiang office will also provide strong support for our close cooperation with customers in the APAC region, especially Chinese customers. We will look forward to further growth in the future.” said Mr. Hideki Horito, Olin APAC General Manager. Mr. Pat Dawson, Olin Executive Vice President and President, Epoxy and International, stated, “We’re committed to continuing to sustainably grow our business in APAC by exceeding customer expectations through our operational excellence, our commercial excellence, our innovation capabilities and our quality people who serve our valued customers.”
