Feininger and Chemtura jointly Introduce Products to China

On October 12, Feininger (Nanjing) Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd. and Chemtura Corporation jointly hosted a ceremony in Nanjing, eastern China to introduce their products to the Chinese market: Feininger’s EPS insulation product, UVpor, and Chemtura’s Emerald InnovationTM 3000 polymeric flame retardant. These products work together to create sustainable building materials that contribute to the low emission energy saving buildings concept. Dow Chemical Company, as inventor and licensor of the BluedgeTM Polymeric Flame Retardant patent, also participated in the ceremony.
The theme of the event was “sustainability, safety, low emission, energy saving solutions”. The two organizers committed to work together on product development efforts to address market needs for low emissions and reduction of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), focusing on innovation for green building materials.
China’s government recognizes the great need to conserve energy in order to reduce the impact of climate change. Chinese society has a growing consumer base that demands the very best in sustainable, energy efficient housing. As such, industry is strongly motivated to adopt the very best technology and to leap over incremental or marginal improvements in order to reduce environmental impact.
Chemtura was the first company to be licensed to manufacture and sell Dow’s BluedgeTM Polymeric Flame Retardant, under the brand name Emerald InnovationTM 3000. Feininger will be the first mainland Chinese Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) producer to make and sell product containing Emerald InnovationTM 3000, under the brand name UVpor.
