Pam Cheng Named President, MSD China

On August 22 MSD (known as Merck in the U.S. and Canada) announced the appointment of Pam Cheng to president of MSD China, effective September 1, 2012.
   Pam will lead MSD's business in China to ensure that Merck continues to meet customers' needs in China, a critical growth driver for Merck today and in the future. Michel Vounastos, the current president of MSD in China, will be moving to a new senior leadership position at MSD's corporate headquarters in Whitehouse Station, N.J.
   Headquartered in Shanghai, MSD China now has one R&D center and three manufacturing plants, with totally more than 5 000 employees. Today, MSD provides innovative medicines and service to customers and patients across China.
