Henan Coal Chem Started Constructing Epichlorohydrin and Epoxy Resin Projects   

Henan Coal Chemical Group Company Ltd (Henan Coal Chem) held a ceremony on November 30th to start constructing a 150 000 t/a epichlorohydrin project and an 80 000 t/a epoxy resin project in Jiaozuo, Henan province. According to statement of the group, the construction will be proceeded in two phases on a land area of 22 hectares, with a planned investment of RMB2.5 billion.
   These two plants will be operated by Henan Coal Chem's subsidiary Jiaozuo Coal Kaiyuan Chemical Company that is constructing a 200 000 t/a caustic soda plant. Once operational, the epichlorohydrin and epoxy resin plants will together consume 150 000 tons of chlorine and 60 000 tons of caustic soda per year.
   Henan Coal Chem's another branch Kaifeng Longyu Chemical Company Ltd produced high quality MC90 polyoxymethylene (POM) particles on December 4th on its 40 000 t/a POM plant that started up on November 23rd. (CCR2010 No.23 page 29)
