Tianjin Dagu Starts up ABS Plant   

Tianjin Dagu Chemical Co Ltd announced on November 15th that it has completed trial operation for the first phase of the 400 000 t/a acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) project on October 25th with the qualified products manufactured. The new plant is designed to produce 200 000 tons of ABS resin annually.
   To match with Sinopec Tianjin Petrochemical Company's 1 million ethylene cracker that started up on January 16th, Tianjin Dagu constructed this ABS project and a 500 000 t/a styrene monomer plant which came on stream on January 22nd.
   The company will accelerate construction of the second phase ABS project. On its portfolio, it also has capacities to annually produce 350 000 tons of caustic soda, 500 000 tons of polyvinyl chloride and 90 000 tons of propylene oxide.
