China BlueChemical Commissioning on Methanol Plant    

On November 17th CNOOC's listed arm China BlueChemical Ltd has completed construction of a 800 000 t/a methanol project at its existing site in Dongfang Chemical City, Hainan province and started wet commissioning on the new plant, according to CNOOC resource. Construction expenditure was RMB2 billion, surpassing its RMB1 billion plan. (CCR2008 No.34) China BlueChemical Ltd also celebrated its 10-year anniversary on the same day.
   In using DPT methanol production technology, the new plant will be fed by CNOOC's Ledong natural gas field.  
   The startup of the new plant brings the company's methanol capacity in Hainan province to 1.4 million t/a. The company also operates a 200 000 t/a methanol factory in Inner Mongolia.
