Taiyuan Chemical Started up Caustic Soda Facility   

The chlor-alkali branch of Taiyuan Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. recently started commercial production of 60 000 t/a ionic membrane caustic soda making facility that uses technologies licensed from a Japanese company. Now the branch has 110 000 t/a capacity to produce caustic soda using ionic membrane process, basically meeting the demand for chlorine and hydrogen of its 150 000 t/a polyvinyl chloride unit. A 90 000 t/a diaphragm caustic soda unit has permanently been closed.
