Nanchong Chemical Industrial Park Got Contract for Feedstock Supply     

Nanchong Chemical Industrial Park, located in the Jialing district of Nanchong, Sichuan province, has left a sufficient safe distance to the Nanchong downtown. It is a special industrial park developed and built by the Nanchong government based on abundant petrochemical resources, natural gas reserves (around 700 billion cubic meters) and salt bittern reserves (about 1 700 billion tons). The park is defined as an important platform for Nanchong to accelerate development of resource intensive industries. With a planned construction area of 40.3 square kilometers, the park will place emphasis on the development of petrochemical projects (1.2 million t/a PTA, 600 000 t/a PET, 1 million t/a CPP, etc), moderately develop natural gas chemical projects (400 000 t/a methanol, 600 000 t/a methanol to polyolefin (MTP), etc), actively develop fine chemical projects (300 000 t/a caustic soda, etc) and gradually develop advanced chemical materials projects and new energy chemical projects (300 000 t/a biomass diesel, 200 000 t/a fuel ethanol, etc).
   So far, the park has invested more than RMB1 billion in the construction of infrastructure facilities. Construction on the main road, backbone pipeline network, land for plants and attached public facilities has been started, which will meet the requirements for companies to enter by the end of 2010 and can reach the conditions of ensuring companies to start production.
   Confirmed projects to be launched in the park:
    A luggage to generate electric power project has been broke ground. Construction on a 380 000 t/a solar photo voltaic special glass and its articles project, a 300 000 t/a biomass diesel project (60 000 t/a for phase one) and a 100 000 t/a aviation kerosene project will be started at the end of 2010. The feasibility study report for a 1.2 million t/a PTA (purified terephthalic acid) project has been completed, the seven assessments including environmental impact assessment and safety assessment on it is being conducted. A 200 000 t/a fuel ethanol project is under discussion.
    China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has promised to supply the following raw materials to Nongchong Chemical Industrial Park by signing a strategic agreement.
