Chongqing Zhengyang Launches Calcium Carbide Project   

Chongqing Zhengyang Advanced Materials Co Ltd held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 18th to begin construction of a 600 000 t/a calcium carbide plant at Qinggang, Chongqing. The plant is part of its advanced materials cyclic industry project, which was launched in November 2009 (CCR2009 No.33 page24)
    Chongqing Zhengyang Advanced Materials Co Ltd is a joint venture between East Hope Group (85%) and Chongqing Wujiang Industry Group Co Ltd. (15%), with a registered capital of RMB820 million. The company has not disclosed the status of other plants including the project.
