Thin-Film Solar PV Modules Project Came on Stream in Henan

China Gogreen Energy Company Ltd., a subsidiary of China Gogreen Assets Investment Limited (HK: 397), on October 15th started up its 100 megawatt production line for a-Si/SiGe thin-film solar PV (photovoltaic) modules in Zhengzhou High and New Technology Industry Development Zone (ZHNZ), Henan province.
The 100 MW solar PV modules line is the first phase of 500 MW solar PV project. Construction was started in March 2010, with an investment of RMB650 million. From 2010 to 2013, the company plans to expand the plant with the growing demand for solar PV modules. The second phase, with an investment of RMB650 million, is expected to come on stream in 2011 and increase capacity of 100 MW thin-film solar PV modules. The third phase, which will cost RMB975 million, is scheduled for startup in 2012 and will add capacity of 150 MW solar PV modules. And the fourth phase - the RMB975 project, is scheduled to be operational in 2013 with an additional capacity of 150 MW.
The production project adopts the most advanced PECVD technology which can boost the conversion efficiency of the thin-film solar cells up to 8% with a product yield rate of 90%. In addition, the advanced technology substantially saves the energy consumption, allowing the ZHNZ to be the key renewable energy base in the region, according to Mr. Kevin Cho, Executive Director of China Gogreen.
