Jiutai Mega Coal-Based Methanol Plant Trial Run in Erdos     

Jiutai Energy (Inner Mongolia) Company Ltd. put its 1 million t/a coal-based methanol project into trial run on October 15th. Synchronously the 100 000 dimethyl ether (DME) facility came on stream.
   The mega methanol plant costs RMB5.2 billion, which is the largest single train of its kind in China. It is located at Zhungeer, Erdos, Inner Mongolia.
   Jiutai Energy (Inner Mongolia), a 69: 31 joint venture between Jiutai Chemical Company Ltd. and Rockefeller & Co., operates the mega complex. Construction was started in 2008. MCC TianGong Group Corporation Ltd. took charge of the engineering design, construction and installation work of the complex.
   The Erdos methanol/DME complex is designed to produce 1.5 million tons of methanol and 1 million tons of DME per year.
   Jiutai Energy Group, headquartered in Linyi, Shandong province, is a leading new energy advocator in China. Currently it has four coal-based methanol/DME production sites in Linyi; Erdos; Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province and Guangzhou, Guangdong province. Jiutai Energy Group is fully owned by China Energy Corporation.
