HEG Starts up Two Caustic Soda Lines

Hangzhou Electrochemical Group Co Ltd (HEG) reported on July 6th that its two caustic soda production lines both having a capacity of 100 000 t/a came on stream on May 8th and June 30th, respectively at the company's new factory site in the Linjiang Industry Park, an advanced manufacture base newly constructed in Xiaoshan of Zhejiang province.
HEG's old factory site was close to the downtown of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang. It was required to relocate to this new industry park. The new site has a land of 580 000 square meters to home 300 000 t/a ionic membrane caustic soda, 200 000 t/a polyvinyl chloride, 50 000 t/a chemicals for electronic purpose, 40 000 t/a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether and 100 000 t/a hydrogen peroxide with a total investment of RMB2.5 billion.
These two caustic soda lines use ionic membrane equipment from the Japan-based Chlorine Engineers Corp Ltd, chlorine gas compressor made by Siemens and water treatment facilities supplied by the Dow Chemical.
