Yibin Tianyuan to Renovate a Caustic Soda Unit   

The board of directors of Yibin Tianyuan Group Co Ltd (Yibin Tianyuan, SZ: 002386) recently approved the plan of renovating a 100 000 t/a ionic membrane caustic soda unit that performs low energy efficiency and has potential risk in operation.
   With an expenditure of RMB180 million, the renovation, by eliminating outdated electrolysis cells, will make the unit cut energy consumption and other problems.  
   Yibin Tianyuan expects to produce 410 000 tons of caustic soda, 490 000 tons polyvinyl chloride, 19 000 tons of hydrazine hydrate, 97 000 tons of sodium tripolyphosphate and 305 000 tons of calcium carbide in 2010.
