Sichuan Started up Nitric Acid Unit   

   On April 2nd, Sichuan Golden Elephant Chemical Industry Group officially commenced production of a 200 000 t/a nitric acid unit in Meishan, Sichuan province. The construction expenditure was RMB150 million. The company reported on April 21st that the unit has run normally for two weeks, with qualified nitric acid being made.
   This unit is the second nitric acid unit of the company. It uses the dual pressuring technology that has features of low cost, low energy consumption, and high safety. The company also operates a 250 000 t/a nitro compound fertilizer unit and a 120 000 t/a melamine unit.
