Hubei Benxing Developed New Technology to Make Methyl Tin Mercaptide

Recently China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association identified the new technology of making coordinated methyl tin mercaptide, which was developed by Hubei Benxing Chemical Co., Ltd.
Traditional methyl tin mercaptide is a mixture of two compounds that jointly guarantee the stability of polyvinyl chloride resin in processing. No chemical link exists between the two compounds, so the mixture has not taken a coordinated effect in the processing of polyvinyl chloride.
The invention of Hubei Benxing helped to set up a chemical bond between the two compounds. Moreover, the researchers developed special application technology for the coordinated methyl tin mercaptide. In 2009 the company sold around 5 000 tons of coordinated methyl tin mercaptide.
The company has six traditional methyl tin mercaptide production lines and four 2-ethylhexyl thioglycolate production units, with the annual capacity of 10 000 t/a and 7 000 t/a, respectively.
