Coal Tar Processing Facility Came on Stream in Shaanxi    

Shenmu Tianyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. of Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. has put its 500 000 t/a coal tar processing facility into operation. The successful startup of the facility indicates a breakthrough in the coal-based chemical field for Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Group, the company announced on April 12th.
   The RMB1.7 billion project, located in Shenmu of Shaanxi province, adopts medium-temperature coal tar hydrogenation cracking patent technology and pretreatment patent technology, with high-efficiency transformation ability to process large scale coal tar. The project has capability of producing quality oil products and chemicals, like national-standard gasoline, Euro IV diesel, liquefied petroleum gas, sulfur and liquid ammonia.
   Shenmu Tianyu Chemical Co., Ltd. plans to expand the plant, targeting for producing 1.4 million tons of oil products per year in the future. And the company has an ambition of building a coal-based chemical demonstrative base here with a property of environmentally friendly, energy-saving, high-efficiency to realize coal resource recycle usage.
