China Established Solar PV Industry Alliance      

Twenty two domestic solar photovoltaic companies announced on May 17th they officially established the China PV Industry Alliance in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, in a move to boost the sustainable and healthy development of the Chinese PV industry and promote a complete industry chain and a mature market. The initiative has won support from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission.
   The 22 companies including major players in fields ranging from polysilicon and silicon wafers, solar cells and modules, application systems and special equipment. Their polysilicon production accounts for more than 70% of the nation's total, and their output for solar cells accounts for more than half of the nation's total.
   The China PV Industry Alliance includes such industry leaders like Suntech Power Holding Co., Ltd., Jinglong Industrial Group Co., Ltd., Yingli Group Co., Ltd., GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited, Trina Solar Limited and Suzhou-based Canadian Solar Inc.
