Gansu to Add Calcium Carbide Factory   

On June 13th Gulang Xin Miao Fine Chemical Co Ltd announced to start construction on a 600 000 t/a calcium carbide project in Gulang Recycle Industrial Economy Cluster of Gansu province, western China. The company planned an investment of RMB553 million for the construction. The project, when starts up, is expected to supply 1 000 jobs and bring RMB2.28 billion of sales per year.
    The company now operates units of 120 000 t/a calcium carbide, 60 000 t/a calcium cyanamide, 50 000 t/a dicyandiamide, 150 000 t/a calcium carbonate and 50 000 t/a active calcium.
