Gansu North Started up Phase II    

Recently, Gansu North Santai Chemical Co Ltd, a joint venture of CNGC Luzhou North Chemical Industries Co Ltd (40%), CNGC Gansu Yinguang Chemical Industry Group Co Ltd (30%) and Baiyin Yinzhu Electricity Co Ltd (30%), announced to start up the second phase project including a 40 000 t/a caustic soda unit, a 88 000 t/a chlorine unit and a 28 million Nm3 hydrogen and its derivatives unit. Chlorine is aimed to supply the TDI production line of CNGC Gansu Yinguang Chemical Industry Group. The previously announced plan also cover a 120 000 t/a polyvinyl chloride unit, which was started in October 2007 but ceased in early 2008 given the increased construction costs.
