QWMT Launched Second MH Line

On May 28th, Qinghai Western Magnesium Technology Co Ltd (QWMT) began work to construct a 100 000 t/a bittern to magnesium hydroxide/magnesium oxide project with an investment of RMB500 million at it site close to Qarhan Salt Lake of Qinghai province. The integrated ammonia-lime process developed by Central South University of China will be used in the project.
The process can reduce consumption of ammonia through recycling, improve the purity of products while realize zero emission. More important, the crystallizing technology patented by Central South University will help to increase the diameter of magnesium hydroxide particle to 50 micro meters.
From Qarhan Lake, Chinese companies produce more than 3 million tons of potassium chloride per year and 120 million cubic meters of bittern containing around 30% of magnesium chloride.
QWMT has started construction on a 100 000 t/a bischofite to magnesium hydroxide project since June 2009.
