Sinopec Expands Shijiazhuang Refinery by 60%   


On May 29th, Sinopec Shijiazhuang Refining & Chemical Company started construction of expansion to raise its refining capacity by 60%.
   The Shijiazhuang refinery, which is located in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, northern China, will expand its refining capacity to 8 million t/a from current 5 million t/a. The 70 hectare project is expected to cost RMB6.371 billion, including newly-built ten facilities and one innovating unit as well as matching units.
   The complete project is scheduled for startup at the end of 2012.
