Hygain to Launch Caustic Soda Project   

Qingdao Hygain Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd. announced on February 20th that it set up a joint venture - Aral Qingsong Chemical Co., Ltd. with Nong1shi of Xinjiang Bingtuan to construct a 300 000 t/a caustic soda project in Xinjiang region of western China.
   The joint venture will invest RMB1.6 billion in this project that uses salt rocks as raw materials. A calcium carbide based polyvinyl chloride project is also in the planning.
   Qingdao Hygain Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd. has production site in Qingdao of eastern China's Shandong province. It currently operates production units of 180 000 t/a caustic soda, 160 000 t/a polyvinyl chloride, 420 000 t/a hydrochloric acid and other chlorine related chemicals.
